Amvera Bridge is one of the biggest and beautiful bridge in south sumatera, the Amvera Bridge was build in Hindia Belanda age.

Dempo Mountain is the biggest mountain that is located in Pagar Alam regency, It takes 4 hours to get there by car from Palembang province.

Lematang Indah Waterfall
Other tourism object is Pagar Alam regency is Lematang Indah Waterfall, it's located in Besemah village.  From the tale, Lematang Indah Waterfall was as aascetism place of "si lidah pahit". Si lidah pahit is the super hero of sumatera selatan.

Megalitikum
Megalitikum is a stone statue that was made in pre-history. Megalitikum is located in Tinggi Hari village of Lahat regency. There were so many foreigner do research in that place to find the secret of their history life. Megalitikum decsribes the pre-history lifes where they hadn't know yet the written languge, so that they express their mind with a symbol.

Batu Surau
Batu Surau is located in kota Agung, batu surau means a mosque in kota Agung language, the sub language of Palembangness language. Batu Surau is a stone that's totally like a mosque. According to the history "Batu Surau" was a mosque that's cursed by "Si Lidah Pahit" to be a stone.  Until now according to indigenous medical practitioners and societis believe that there are still people inside the "Batu Surau".

Jempol Mountain

Jempol Mountain is located in Merapi village of Lahat regency. Jempol Mountain is called "Jempol Mountain" because of it's form like a thumb if we see from in front of it and it will be like index finger if we see It from beside of it. According to the Lahat societies believe that Jempol Mountain is a place of "nine sunan" do meeting in that time.

Note: Sunan is the moslem heros of Indonesian societies, they delivered moslem konwledge in Indonesia.

Masjid Agung (Agung Mosque)

Masjid Agung (Agung Mosque)

Agung means "Super", "Masjid Agung" is one of Palembang's sultanate archeological remains. It was founded by Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I or Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin Jaya Wikramo. this mosque was build from 1738 to 1748. They said that "Masjid Agung" was the biggest mosque Indonesian archipelago in that time.

Used to the widht of "Masjid Agung" was 1.080 m2, It could hold 1.200 assembly. The first expansion was done by lord Nataagama Kara Mangala Mustafa Ibnu Raden Kamaluddin.

In 1819 and 1821, the reparation was done by Dutch goverment, after the reaparation, In 1893, 1916, 1950, 1970 and the last 1990 this mosque re-expanded. In expansion in 1966-1969 by institute of Masjid Agung, they build by adding the second floor in Masjid Agung so that the widht of Masjid Agung was 5.520 m2 and can hold 7.750 communities. In 1970 Masjid Agung renovate again by adding the tower as seen now. Besides that tower, Masjid Agung has any other origin tower that adopted from chinese style building.

Masjid Agung Palembang has a special architectur, the roof of it is like pyramid with chinese nuance. The architect of Masjid Agung was European people,  Some of maerials building like glass and marble were imported from Europ. So, the architecture of Masjid Agung was combined with chinese and Europ architecture.

Musi River is the biggest and the longest in South Sumatera, this river divide Palembang into two areas, namely: Seberang Ilir in the north and Seberang Ulu in the south. The spring of Musi River flows from Kapahiang, Begkulu. This river is the mouth of other nine rivers, namely; Komering, Rawas, Batanghari, Leko, Lakitan,Kelingi, Lematang, Semangus and Ogan river.
Musi River is an important river as a means of transportation, It can be seen where there are so many taxi boat that takes the passangers to accross the river or even as the recreation means.
Usually, the visitors visits this place in the evenin until in the night to see the sunset, in the night Musi river looks so beatiful with the lamp light in the edges of river.

Lematang Indah Waterfall

Lematang Indah Waterfall

Lematang Indah waterfall is one of the most beautifull river in Pagar Alam, It's hight 40 meters and It's has been an Icon of Pagar Alam tourism object since the visitors increase from time to time. To reach the Waterfall Area, the Pagar Alam goverment has availabled some stairs to get there. In the up stairs the Pagar Alam government also build some facilities like; park area, mosque, resting place and also small restaurant.

According to the story, used to Lematang Indah waterfall was used by "Si Lidah Pahit" to did meditation. "Si Lidah Pahit" was a person who have a devil power.

Lematang Indah Waterfall is located in the edges of the street in Pagar Alam, that is exactly coonected to Pagar Alam and Lahat regency. Beside that, the panorama in this area is really beutifull with the curving street and a sharp bend in the road along Lahat and Pagar Alam.
In the edges of the street to Lematang Indah Waterfall, there is a deep ravine, there are many visitors drop in this area fisrt before they go to the Lematang Indah Waterfall.

Acces and Lematang Indah Waterfall condition

The street to the Lematang Indah Waterfall in best condition because this street is the main traffic from Lahat to Pagar Alam, but there are many curving street, deep ravine and also a sharp bend.
I suggest, If you haven't go there, please ask some one to guide you there. There was an accident in 2003, a bus was fallen in the deep ravine because the driver didn't know exactly the area.

Dempo Mountain

Dempo Mountain

Dempo mountain is the highest mount in Sumatera Selatan, It is 3.195 meters above sea level.
Dempo mount is an active volcano and sometimes the smoke and mud comes up from the higher land to the lower land.
Dempo mountain is included as Bukit Barisan mountain range that has two top, namely: Dempo mount and Merapi mount. Around the Dempo mountain, there are many farmer plantation like; tea, ricefield, vegetables, villa, and also tea factory.

Dempo Mountain is the one of mount tourism object in south Sumatera. Along the road to Dempo mount is sorrounded by claen and fresh river and also shaddy forest, usually the visitors takes the water to drink. Dempo Mountain is a quite area so that the visitors are able to listen the nature sounds, like the birth chirp, wind blow and also the sounds of river flows.

Dempo Mountain is located 310 kilometers from the west of Palembang. To reach this area the visitors can use car or bus that aim to Pagar Alam, It takes 7 hours from Palembang to Pagar Alam.

Benteng Kuto Besak was founded as long as 17 years, started from 1780 M and official anounced on monday, 21 february 1797 M. Actually, Benteng Kuto Besak was palace building in XVIII century and It became the sultanate center . Benteng Kuto Besak building was Sultan's Mahmud Badarudin I idea who govern in 1724-1758, but It was realized when the Palembang sultanate governed by Sultan Mahmud Badarudin (1776-1803).

Used to, Benteng Kuto Besak was called by Dutch goverment as Nieuwe palace or New palace.
Kuto Besak area consist of wide yard with the shady palm tree background in Kuto Besak yard that is connected to water tower of mayor office Palembang.

The Superiority of Benteng Kuto Besak

The lenght of Benteng Kuto Besak is 288,75 meters, widht 183,37 meters, hight 9,99 meters.
Benteng Kuto Besak has four bastions or stronghold bastions. In every corner of It there are bastion or stronghold bastion, but there is one biggset bastion in the west of it, this bastion more different to other three bastions.
The three bastions are the characteristic of Benteng Kuto Besak. There are three entrance in Kuto besak, in the west, east and south. The main entrance face the Musi river that is called "Lawang Kuto", while other entrance called "Lawang Buritan".
